  • Compact Disc (CD) + Digital Album

Fatal Casualties is a Swedish electronic project consisting of two members: Stefan Ljungdahl (synthesizers / drum computers) and Ivan Hirvonen (vocals). The band was formed in Stockholm, Sweden, 1986. Active years 1987-1991, with live performances and some demos. In 2010 the reunion was a fact, and august the 1st 2012, the debut ep "Paria" saw the light, followed by the ‘SITM Remixes’ CD (with cooperation of Beate Barthel and Daniel B) again followed by the vinyl album ‘Psalm’ (in which Darrin Huss of Psyche gives a warm contribution).

... And then there was silence... Until now! Fatal Casualties strike hard with a brand new CD album in this dull year of pop music. Where the previous album showed us the deepest black, Fatal Casualties appear to be more light-hearted in 'Filter'. The band shines with atmospheric songs full of squeaks and creaks accompanied simultaneously by understated but often danceable beats and melodic electronica. Fatal Casualties' sound requires it’s very own definition: the simple approach is to call it electro or dark-synth and some might call it death disco or ritual elektro. No matter which label might fit, Fatal Casualties' music is purely electronic with an industrial and minimal background which expresses with a mystical and poetic touch. The lyrics again are in Swedish and English and occasionally in Finnish. Those who will dive into the lyrics will discover that these are relevant and apply an additional poetic layer.

Industrial soundscapes with alternately eerie and gentle vocals backed by reluctant beats, Fatal Casualties have a very unique combination of styles which denies to comply with established genre clichés. This deep layered album is beautiful, complex and magnificent on all levels - highly recommended.

En sommardag, du sjöng för mig Cornelius
Vandrar jag, genom orden
Och försöker förstå, vem du var?

Dom sjunger, några ungar
Dom sjunger, några ungar
Medan jag är bakom lås och bom, på mitt rum

Taking a step into the wild
Something so strange, I can´t complain
And who would it be, who´ll listen to me?
Who´ll listen to me?

En arbetssökande soldat är jag
En soldat som söker svar
Jag, en jävla glad amatör
Var är min identitet?
Var är du?

So I´ll disappear, when death is luring
And who would it be, who´ll listen to me?
But why should I care?
I shall never
No, I shall never

Lie, shall I never
Lie, takes me closer
Lie, never shall I

Cornelius, du sjöng för mig en sommardag
